EXIRE
Project: Student Project
Topic: Individual Urban Mobility in the year 2022
Advisor: Achim Storz (Storz Design), Andreas Wolfsgruber (Magna Steyr)
Duration: 18 Weeks
Team: Martin Hanl, Michael Jaritz
The project started with an intensive period of research. In order to learn different methods and techniques for both research itself as well as idea and concept developing we were supported by Gerald Steiner who helped us finding the right direction. After research, concept ideation and decision, the phase of design ideation started. Parallel to the design ideation a technical package was set up. Overall measurements, seating positions and the included technical parts were defined this stage of the developing process.
The brainstorming for the design first started by setting up moodboards and determining a significant design language. Sketching and digital rendering then merged into the clay modelling process where the last decisions and design details were made and which was
also the foundation for the scale proportion model.
Parallel to the clay modelling the technical package was adjusted and vice versa.
After finishing one side of the clay model it was scanned with a laser scanner to get an underlay for the CAD-modelling process.
While the car was built up on this data the other half of the clay model was shaped and finished.
